The holidays are a great time to get friends and family together, even if it isn't on the actual holiday. In this post, we’ve rounded up some fun and interactive activities that will turn your holiday party into an event to remember and have everyone brimming with holiday cheer!

Cookie Decorating
If you're feeling ambitious, make your own sugar cookie dough, but I personally don't mind using the Pillsbury premade stuff. It's less work! Roll it out, cut out with your holiday cookie cutters and provide a stack for each of your guests. You provide the frosting and have everyone else bring the other decorating items! Pro tip: Don't go into sugar coma!

Ceramics painting
We found these super cute ceramic paintables at Michael's and there were a TON of different ones. Buy enough for each of your guests and provide paints, glitter, stickers and other fun holiday accents for your guests to decorate with.

Wreath making
My favorite hack for the holiday is just getting a plain wreath that's already got the garland on it and then finding bulbs and picks at your favorite craft store to stick in and make your own wreath. Have each guest bring something to decorate with. For the Cherry on Top: Set up a rotation where everyone gets a set time limit to work on each person's wreath, adding their own creative flair to each person's wreath.

Ornament making
Two options here! Get the wooden ornaments and paint them OR get the plain glass bulbs and provide glitter, fake snow, tinsel and other holiday accents to stuff the empty bulbs with. Provide ribbon and stick on items for the outsides of the bulbs.

Gingerbread house competition
An obvious one, but a favorite one! Everyone bring their own gingerbread house decorating kit and have at it. Feel free to provide even more decorating items like gum drops, licorice, lollipops, peppermints and sprinkles. For the Cherry on Top: Set a time limit and vote for the best gingerbread house. Winner gets a prize!

At home paint party
Provide wooden boards (you can find them already cut and ready at stores like a Lowe's or Home Depot) and paint for everyone and let everyone get creative with a winter or Christmas themed holiday board. For the Cherry on Top: Painting with a Twist also provides at home paint kits with instructional videos on designs.

DIY Holiday Candles
Provide plain candle jars, wax, wicks, and seasonal scents like cinnamon or pine for guests to create custom holiday candles to take home. For the Cherry on Top: Get items to decorate the outside of the candles, too!

Holiday Cocktails or Mocktails
Set up a DIY bar with mixers, garnishes, and spirits (or non-alcoholic options) and challenge guests to create their own holiday drink. Have everyone vote for the best creation!
For the Cherry on Top: Have everyone create and decorate recipe cards for their drinks so everyone can go home with a copy of their new favorite creations.
All that's left to do is have everyone wear their favorite holiday gear, put on your favorite Christmas music or movies in the background and have a good time with these activities for your next holiday party!
Happy Holidays!
