Destination Bachelorette Party Idea: Vermilion, OH

Updated: Jan 24, 2024

This quaint little town on Lake Erie has so much to offer for a destination bachelorette party. Here are some ideas for the best things to do for your stay and my recommendations for breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course, drinks.

Take an adventure down the Vermilion River and into Lake Erie by kayak, canoe or paddle board. Groups of 6 or more even get a discounted rate!

Vermilion Beach

When on the lake, you can't miss out on a beach day! Easy access, clean, plenty of parking and not usually overcrowded. Brand new comfort stations were also just installed. It's the perfect place to spend the day with your favorite people.

Take a private cruise down the river while enjoying the views of Vermilion and drinks with your girlies!

Catch a quick ferry across the lake to Put-in-Bay (PIB), an island in Lake Erie (yes we have islands!). PIB makes a perfect day trip for you and your party with plenty of sights to sees and bars to drink at. You can enjoy everything from a tiki bar with swinging seats and sand at your feet to exploring Perry caves. If island life sounds like your scene, consider having your whole weekend here! Check out the post on that here.

For your thrill seekers, Cedar Point is just a quick 30 minute drive away from Vermilion. Full of thrill rides and roller coasters, it's a great way to spend the day! For an alternative, option check out their waterpark for a day of fun in the sun!

Winery Crawl

Set up your own winery hopping tour to nearby wineries. Call up a local party bus to cart you around so everyone can enjoy and stay safe! Nearby wineries include:

  • Papermoon Vineyards and Winery (my personal favorite). Food available to purchase, live music on Saturdays and usually a local food truck with even more food options. The wine is delicious and they serve a lot of variety.

  • Vermilion Valley Vineyards. Try out their tasting flights so you get a variety of different wines. This gorgeous winery has breathtaking views out in the country.

  • Quarry Hill Winery. Just about 20 minutes from Vermilion, you'll find this gem with estate grown grapes and fruit wine. You will love the views once again!

Dine, Shop, Drink

You'll be happy to find a number of shops and dining right in the downtown area. From a coffee shop to a chocolate store and a diner to riverfront dining there will be endless options for your whole group. There is also plenty of other dining options nearby that are just a short golf cart ride away. Here are my favorites:

  • Brewed Awakening - Delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Lunch options as well!

  • Granny Joe's - Your classic breakfast food, just like eating at grandma's house. Get some hand scooped ice cream here later in the day, too. Or for breakfast...why not?

  • The Pavilion Grill - Just a good solid brunch spot. Yes, there are mimosas and other fun drinks!

  • Huggies - Bloody Mary and mimosa bar on Sundays!

  • Woodstock - perfect spot for a lighter lunch. Sandwiches and big ol' delicious salads. All hippie/70s themed and a beer garden out back with swings!

  • Big Ed's Main Street Soda Grill - 50's styled diner. Delicious burgers and sandwiches with classic fried apps and milkshakes.

  • Chez Francois Restaurant - French & very upscale. Proper dress and reservations are required! A great fancy dinner option

  • Touche Bistro - Riverfront and attached to Chez Francois, but slightly more casual

  • Quaker Steak & Lube - Another great place to grab a drink on the river! (Honestly, eats are subpar bar food, but atmosphere is fun and again, on the water. I recommend sticking with drinks and maybe some apps)

  • Rudy's - If you're looking for some nightlife, checkout this bar. Classic bar food with late night munchies and good drinks.

So yes, Vermilion is a small town on Lake Erie, but you're surprised at everything that it has to offer, right?! It's uniqueness is what makes it such a great idea for a destination bachelorette party. Bonus: Your bride will get extra attention since it's not common!

Cheers to you and your next visit!

EVENTually Yours,

Olivia
