Everyone knows that egg prices are at an all time high right now. So coloring eggs might not be on the agenda this year, but that doesn't mean you can't do another fun activity! Here are some alternative Easter Egg coloring ideas that will still get those creative juices flowing and put you in the Easter spirit. Who knows - maybe it will be a new tradition every year!

Painting rocks
Find smooth oval shaped rocks and just simple acrylic paints will do! Get creative and paint any design you like on your rocks. You can even use these for the Easter Bunny to hide!
Painted plastic eggs
You could just as easily paint the plastic eggs. Who doesn't have some of those laying around, right?! Plus they're reusable for years to come. You could even make decorative garlands with these, too! Just bust out that acrylic paint! Easy and creative.

Yarn easter eggs
Blow up a few small balloons into an oval shape - we recommend 5inch ones. Then just dip yarn or embroidery string into a bowl of Mod Podge and wrap it freely around the balloon! Be sure to squeeze the string out as you go to avoid excess Mod Podge. Let the string dry completely and then pop the balloon!

Pipe cleaner eggs
Using Easter plastic eggs for this one as well - just get some hot glue and pipe cleaners!
Spray painted styrofoam eggs
Find styrofoam eggs at the craft store or even Walmart, get some glitter spray paint and have some fun!
What other alternative ideas do you have for coloring or dyeing your Easter eggs this year?
